Ronald Borchardt and Ismael Hidalgo Receive the 2007 SBS PolyPops Foundation Award 15 Mar 2007: This year Dr. Ronald Borchardt, Solon E. Summerfield Distinguished Professor, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, The University of Kansas School of Pharmacy, and Dr. Ismael Hidalgo of Absorption Systems, share the SBS Polypops Award for their discovery and development in the late 1980s and early 1990s of Caco-2 cells, a human colon carcinoma cell line as a model of the intestinal mucosa.
