A Comparison of Multiple Microplate Formats for Use in the LANCE® and AlphaScreen® Assays 06 Aug 2010: This application note demonstrates white solid, clear and round bottom microplates are the optimal choices for both LANCE® and AlphaScreen Assays. White 384 and 1536 well microplates give the greatest assay window with minimal cross-talk. Human Oncostatin M is Functionally Equivalent to Mouse LIF in Supporting Mouse ES Cell Pluripotency & Germline Competency 21 Jun 2010: In this application note R&D Systems demonstrate human OSM is able to maintain ES cell pluripotency in a similar manner to mouse LIF, including long-term maintenance of pluripotency and the ability to differentiate in vitro, the ability to activate STAT3, and germline transmission competency. The study suggests that OSM may be an additional factor that plays a role in early embryonic development and that it may be used as an alternative to LIF in mouse ES cell culture. R&D Systems, Inc.
